Q. Im thinking of getting a deviated septum and a hump fixed all in one surgery. I what like to the kind of scarring should I expect from an operation like this? Also, how long after the operation will it take before I see the results?,

A. Thank you for your enquiry. I generally prefer to do these interventions through an open approach. This means that there is a fine scar on the columella, which is the bridge of flesh between the nostrils. I feel more comfortable to control the shape of the bridge and nasal septum as well as nasal tip through this approach. Typically, the return to work is at two weeks following surgery, and I would expect them to see a significant part of the changes within 3 to 4 weeks. For the results to become established it can take up to a year. It is well understood that when skin of the tip of the nose picker all the changes in the area tend to be slower.
